Introduction

Dear Friends and New Visitors,

For as long as I can remember I have been fascinated with the thought of travel and the adventure it brings. Growing up you learn about history, kings and queens, castles and palaces, times of peace and war. Though some may be more interesting than others, they are all apart of our history and a reason for where we are today.

When I was a kid, I thought that traveling was all about having an adventure. Amusement parks and the search for different landscapes were prominent themes. Since my trip to Europe, however, I realize that the real adventure is in experiencing different cultures.

On this recent trip, I noticed that the landscape was not all that different from what I see on a daily basis, here in upstate New York. It was beautiful, but the thing I enjoyed most, and that made me feel like I was in Ireland, was the time I spent with the locals.

One night stands out in particular. I went to a local pub, the Brazen Head, officially Ireland's oldest pub, and made a few friends. While there I had the opportunity to experience a traditional Irish music "session." The music was lively, telling stories of Ireland. At that moment, it finally felt like Ireland. See the people, stories, way they talk, is a big part of what Ireland is all about. Yes you can see some cool ruins from a time long ago, but you could do the same thing in Peru. The difference is the people and the culture.
